I turned 22 today, so I want to teach you 22 lessons I've learned over the years.

< Thread >
1. Get yourself out there

You may have "the next big thing," but that won't ever be executed unless you meet people.

Get yourself out there, expose yourself to more situations, and get some experience!

You can only read so many books, start DOING.
2. Find more like-minded individuals

Stop trying to run a one-man show.

Everyone wants to be successful,

But your success is determined by working with others that propel.

"Your net worth is your network."
3. Your health is your wealth

Get sick and your productivity falls out the window.

Get injured and you're immobile.

Stop taking advantage of your health, start taking care of it!
4. You NEED to work out, no IFs or BUTs 💪

When did humans stop exercising?

We’re SUPPOSED to move, even in the office.

Stop finding reasons to not get your body moving,

Because it's necessary for us.
5. Be grateful 🙏

Life sometimes feels like it moves too slow.

One thing you have to understand is that you're slowly learning each and every day.

Start cherishing your small victories and peers.

Happiness is found in the process, not the outcome.
6. Get really freaking good at one skill

You don't need to be good at everything.

Just get really freaking good at one skill,

So you can offer value to the world.
7. Learn to slow down 🐢

Life moves extremely fast.

Learn to slow down, audit your days, and realize what you've accomplished.

This has to do with being grateful as well, you realize how much more fun the journey is.
8. One foot at a time 🐾

My biggest mistake in life was skipping step 1 and moving onto steps 5, 6, and 7.

Be sequential, don't skip steps!

You are never rushed in life, don't think you have to be successful after 3 months!
9. Start building habits, ASAP

No matter if it's for health reasons or getting closer to your goals,

Habits are extremely important.

They are essentially the makeup of the person you want to become.

Habits first, results will come second.
10. Be a creator, not a reader

Start getting yourself out there.

Most people are extremely talented but will never start showing that to the world.

Start sharing with others what you have to offer!
11. You are nothing without your supporters

Start appreciating your parents,

Your friends,

Your mentors,

And everyone else who has had an impact on your life.

You never know if you have a tomorrow, so let them know today.
12. Do NOT play the comparing game‼️

If you work with others, stop trying to play the game of responsibilities.

If you're in a relationship, don't try to have responsibilities of who does what.

If someone is lacking, pick them up.

Comparing will ruin you.
13. There is no such thing as a "balanced" lifestyle ⚖️

If you truly want something, you have to go all-in.

Counterbalance by just touching base once in a while, but you cannot be Superman.

Slow down and focus on one task at a time, then move on.
14. Drop people who bring negativity to your life

Say no to:
❌ News
❌ Shit talkers
❌ Manipulative people

It is NOT worth keeping those people around in your life.
15. Less is more

You may think that you have to be:
✅ Working 12 hours a day
✅ Exercising 7 days a week
✅ Eating healthy 100% of the time

But you don't!

Rest, recovery, and auditing is just as much of the process!
16. You will have down days 📉📈

Life challenges you sometimes, but it's all part of the process.

Do not be down and quit just because you've been hit with a roadblock, learn to stick with it!

I've been on Twitter for 7 months now - it has definitely been a rocky road.
17. Aiming for perfection is aiming to never start

My biggest mistake, by far.

I was too scared to commit because I thought I needed to know everything.

Understand that everyone is learning, even Elon Musk!

Just start!!
18. Do NOT live for others' approval

Life is about discovering YOURSELF.

Nothing else.

Do not chase other people's acceptance or approval, start doing it for yourself.

Life will be 10x more enjoyable!
19. Do NOT be pigeonholed to one area of skill

If you like Nutrition, Habits, Fitness, Investing, Copywriting, Web Design, etc.,

Don't think you have to stick with one thing.

Get really good at one, then start learning more!
20. This may get controversial, but family is everything

Blood is blood.

Raised from an Asian background, family is everything.

Prior to COVID, we would see each other every week.

They are everything you've got, so cherish them.
21. Do not listen to outside noise

Just because you see other people succeeding or progressing faster than you,

Do NOT let that deter you from sticking to your path.

You have to stick to your own strategy, not follow fool's gold.
22. Partner with great people, not people that fit a skillset.

Not many people understand this.

If you look to hire for a skillset, you get burned not knowing the person.

If you look for great people who are honest, you will always find success together.
