two questions that really helped me back when i had to reach out to games press/influencers was to imagine them asking:
"What's in it for me?" and "Why is that a good thing?"
"What's in it for me?" and "Why is that a good thing?"
for press, what's in it for them to write about ur game? could be:
1. Interest: personal appeal
2. Angle: your game's personality & flair
3. Newsworthiness: exclusives, sneak peeks, new trailers, launch dates, etc.
possible good things: clicks, engagement, emotional resonance

why would influencers play ur game?
1. Entertainment: personal AND audience interest (fortnite audience wants to watch fortnite)
2. Reactions: shareable moments
3. Experience: interactivity w/ others or audience
possible good things: engagement, attract audience, virality

this is obviously EXTREMELY simplified but the point is basically that good marketing is not about you!!!! it's about other people, their needs, and how your game fills that gap.
that's what I've found helpful anyway!
