Picture this:

You're going to work out.

You finished your warmups,

And on the first set of squats, you feel a pinch in your lower back.

Are you hurt? Injured? Should you go on?

👇
This is how @samk_strength breaks it down on our episode of Ground Zero Fitness.

There's a difference between hurting and an injury.

Hurt is like a bruise.

You feel it, but there's no structural damage.

An injury is usually structural damage.

EX: a tear, broken bone, etc.
When it comes to an injury, you'll KNOW when it's injured.

As Sam mentions, if you popped a disc while deadlifting or your knee buckles, YOU WILL KNOW it's an injury.

When you're hurt, you'll feel it at the end of your set of squats.

It hurts, but it's manageable.
If you're injured, stop.

If it's manageable, you can find a workaround.

Sam breaks it down into a system:
1. Can you do the weight anymore? If not, drop the weight.

2. Can you do the new weight? If not, switch exercises to those which eliminate the pain.

3. Can't find those exercises? Get out of the gym.
