ah, heck it!!!

i've been in a weird mental space with my work abilities this past week.

gonna be fully transparent on my ✨anxieties✨ right now because i know a lot of ppl working in community can feel the same imposter-y way.

👇
1) my tweet today only did ok https://twitter.com/AmongUsGame/status/1357040958983057408?s=20

no matter how big your numbers, it's addicting to compare and want bigger ones.

improvement is fine, but i've been obsessively just STARING and hating the engagement number today.
1.5) I think: "have I lost my abilities?", "I wasn't clever/funny enough", etc.

but we all know it's not pure numbers that matter, esp. not just 1 tweet. it's weird to sound upset over it, but social media feels like u have to perform at 100% every time to "prove" urself
2) not doing "enough"

it's hard not to compare yourself sometimes. how can someone do x, y, AND z when it feels like I can only do x?? do i need to find more opportunities?? sign up for more??

but your worth isn't your work. no need to be best. only need to be good and kind.
3) feeling uncreative

content creation is no joke, and being able to continually create daily/weekly content for ALL platforms is draining, especially when you're 1 person.

feeling uninspired and tired is ok. taking time to consume, coast, and breathe is good.
4) messsing up

i'm lucky and grateful to have friends who hold me accountable when i screw up. and i do screw up! i did recently! and it's ok!!! we can grow and be proud of it, even if it's scary at first.

it's very easy to be a bad person. it's hard and messy to be a good one.
5) disappointing ppl

it's bleh to see constant bad takes, demands, and frustrations. or see your work devalued as just the "social media admin" (hint: not my only job but also no??)

u want to make them happy! u wish u could help the team more! and u are. take 5 and log off.
in conclusion: 🤢🤮
