Wanted to make a small announcement today on a couple of things. First, I have a new small business. Well it's an old small business, the oldest children's shoe company in the country. And I'm now one of the owners. http://kepnerscott.com
Early in the pandemic, we started selling cloth masks. The first non-shoe procuct the company made in it's 130 year existence. The WSJ covered that here https://www.wsj.com/articles/american-companies-innovate-to-fight-the-coronavirus-in-echo-of-world-war-ii-11587045652
First we were making these to donate in the small Pennsylvania town where we are located, to help with the crisis of lack of mask availability. But after donating thousands, the demand kept growing so we started selling them too.
This also helped the company survive the full shutdown of shoe manufacturing as mandated by the state, and the tough year economically.
But now with the pandemic getting worse, more viral strains here already, and mask availability improved, it's clear that a lot of people are just wearing cloth masks when really this is not enough.
