How to find out your niche on social media?

I struggle with this.

You may struggle with this.

What can you do about that?

//A thread//
The framework to find your niche:

N: Narrative
I: Intellect
C: Curiosity
H: Habits
E: Exception
Let’s start by answering the question of why you should try to find a niche?

- A clear idea of your audience.
- More directed content.
- Easier to generate content.
- Great leverage to start and grow.
Which ideas do people have about niches?

- I need to rigorously stick to the niche.
- I can never change my niche.
- A niche limits me too much.
- I cannot be defined by one niche. I have too many interests.
So what’s a niche?

It is a foundational layer of your social media profile.

Niches should not limit you. Instead, they should help to enlarge your reach.

You start with one domain.

Together with the growth of your audience, your niche will expand to more domains.
How to find that niche?

Build out a process in which by repetitive feedback and guidance you will be able to find out your niche.

This is a process suspect to constant change.

Don’t be rigid.

The world around you isn’t rigid as well.

Let's explain now the framework:
1. Narrative
What stories are you excited to talk about?
Stories are what make up the bulk of your profile.

They will lead almost all of your content creation.

Have nothing to talk about? Then start pursuing some new hobbies and make your life more story-worthy.
2. Intellect
What topics do you know more about than other people?

You don’t need to be an expert. You just need to find out where you have a small knowledge advantage above others.

This can go about cooking, fitness, medicine, philosophy, etc.

Define your smartness.
3. Curiosity
The easiest and most effective way to find your niche is to follow your curiosity.

Pick topics that generate energy, rather than consume energy.

Remember this is a long term game!
4. Habits

What are your current habits?

Habits are automated processes in your life. You have a clear advantage when you have automated actions on domains other people are struggling with.

This is where you can bring value.

This is where you can help other people.
5. Exception

What makes you exceptional?

What makes you stand out from the crowd?

Look at it from different perspectives. (See next tweet)
You can stand out because of different reasons:

- Physical wise
- Intellectual wise
- Social wise
- Emotional wise
- Experience wise

Write this down now. I’m sure you will come up with some ideas.
You have defined your niche. What now?

Time to test it and refine it.

A niche without an audience is not worth your time.

You need to reevaluate frequently your own niche ideas and the idea of your niche according to the audience. Make them concordant.
So for recapitulation:

NICHE

Why: To stand out and target a specific audience.

What: Dynamic foundation to build your brand upon.

How: Use this framework to find out ➡️

N: Narrative
I: Intellect
C: Curiosity
H: Habits
E: Exception
