Gratitude is one of the main pillars of developing a positive mindset

It can help

✅Reduce stress/anxiety
✅Improve confidence
✅Cure insomnia
✅Boost relationships

It's easy to find things to be grateful for on good days

But what about bad days?

[thread]
Even on bad days, it's still really important to look for things to be grateful for

In fact, it's even more important than ever!

So if gratitude is so great...why's it so hard to do on those tough days?

It's because most people are grateful for the wrong things
If I asked you what gives you joy - what's your answer?

✅Getting a raise
✅Your partner
✅Nice weather

But what if you don't get a raise. Your're single. Or the weather's bad?

Does that mean there's nothing to be grateful for?
If you associate joy with things, then that's where the problem lies

What you need to do is learn how to shift your mindset from viewing joy as something you receive from specific places, people and things

And learn how to tap into the joy that is always inside you
How do you learn how to live with a mindset of joy?

That's where gratitude comes in

When you live with a mindset geared towards gratitude, it means you're always looking for the positive in every situation

No matter how negative it seems

How's that?
It might seem hard at first

It might even seem impossible

But the more you do it, the more you'll start to notice more positive things around you that you can still be grateful for

And as long as you have something to be grateful for...life is still good
So the weather's bad. Maybe it helps you stay indoors and be cozy

Are you single? That means you have more time to do your own thing

Not doing well at work? Ask for feedback and see it as a challenge to improve

Here are some ways to find gratitude for yourself
1. Find Opportunities

They're not always obvious...but they're there

Tough times always give you a chance to reinvent yourself

✅Take a step back
✅View things from a different
✅Try something new
2. Write a gratitude list

Make a list of about 10-100 things you're grateful for

Things like breath, your body, your mind, your home

On the rough days, read over the list to give your gratitude a boost
3. Express gratitude to someone

If you're having a bad day, try giving someone a compliment

Thank them for something

Or reach out to a friend

Just connecting with someone and expressing gratitude can give your mood a boost
4. Make gratitude a habit

I used to wake up every day with the thought: "Ugh I don't want to get out of bed, I hate this day already"

Now, I wake up and right away say "I'm so grateful to be awake!"

The tone you use on yourself makes ALL the difference
5. Schedule gratitude into your day

Set aside a few minutes each day to be grateful

It can be with morning pages or evening pages

I like to write mine in the morning so I start my day off right

Doing this will help you make gratitude a habit
Remember, the more you spend your life looking for things to be grateful for

The less time you'll spend clogging your mind with negative thoughts
