Fuck likes! Here are the social media metrics you should care about as a small business. Short thread...
Likes to a large extent are vain metrics with almost no #marketing value. People like stuff for so many reasons - I once liked an ex's food pix because it was exceptionally ugly. 
So in view of the above here are my top 4 engagement #metrics I think you should actually care about.
Link Clicks - Because they generate traffic to your website that might lead to actual valuable actions like subscriptions and sales
Mentions - Because your brand name is springing up in conversations & shows how relevant your brand is becoming.
Messages - Because your content elicits enough value for your audience to probe even further. Great source of leads too when rightly used.
Shares/Rts -Because your content is valuable enough to be redistributed by your audience. Increases your reach and brand awareness.
