Does the American Dream exist anymore?

America used to be "The Land of Opportunity"

For decades, people moved to the US knowing that "If you work hard, You will succeed"

A short Thread...
With the Industrial Revolution came abundant growth, job opportunities were almost everywhere.

As a result, the recipe for success was

- Educate yourself.
- Go to college.
- Get a degree.
- Find a job.
- Buy a house,
- Save money
- Enjoy life!
Yes, the American dream still exists, but it's changing real quick.

The American dream is no longer based on discipline and hard work.

The value of "work" is being quickly depreciated because of 3 main macroeconomic conditions.
1. With the value of the US dollar depreciating,

Those working hard for money are working hard to receive a depreciated mechanism of exchange of value.
2. Today’s economy is deflationary. To compete, companies (aka. job creators) must use technology to survive.

The value of labor is shifting from “doing the job” to “managing the jobs” done by machines.
3. A combination of both and adding debt to the mix then we find millions of hard-working people running the rat race to make ends meet.

The American dream is alive and well

However, the rules have changed

Today, more than ever, it’s critical to work smarter and not harder
