I... See lots of people making comparisons of the present moments to Europe and nazis and it blows my mind at how warped our history teaching is.

We don't even have to look outside our nation to find the historic precedents to this moment and more. US history alone is enough.
I feel like one of the reasons black people have been ignored while screaming and throwing up danger signs for.... Forever really is that it might mean a reckoning with our internal history by white America?
I'm not saying that there aren't clearly parallels to wwII Germany or other coups...i am just saying that it might be better to consider what our nation itself has already been and done first.
Before you say "this is not America", you should drill into that feeling and research what America has been for others over the centuries.
If this isn't what we want America to be, that is one thing, but to get there we must be real about what America has been and is.

We have to get very real, really fucking quick.
The true evil genius about America is that we've always been a fascist nation, but only to *some* of the population. The other parts are catered to and encouraged to be blind to it.

But now is the time to see that, I think.
And to save you some typing:

No, you are not going to convince me that this nation isn't partially fascist when I am hyper law abiding middle class black man who is deathly afraid of random encounters with police (like so many others)
But just remember: at some point Hitler looked at the US, chuckled to himself and said "you sly dogs. I'm going to use some of that for my own projects!" (this is, I believe, an exact quote)

He borrowed from what our nation had done. I feel like that gets glossed over too often.
