This is a really important point. I suspect many think a vaccine may not work after a delayed 2nd dose. In all likelihood, a delayed second dose would offer *better* protection. I wouldn't blame people for thinking that, given the controversies surrounding COVID treatments and vaccine development. But we should avoid giving the impression that considering options other than what was tested in Ph3 is "not following the science." 2/
Why would we expect better protection after a longer dosing interval (more than one month)? AZ's data shows a better immune response when the second dose is given later.
