This is an universal system for storing and organizing your information.
How do I use it?

What does PARA stand for?
P= Projects
A= Areas
R= Resources
A= Archive
I will give you an insight in how I look at it.

PROJECTS
This is an active domain. This an domain for your active projects.
This means there is a goal attached to it, together with a certain deadline.
This is a domain that needs to be strongly organized.
I use Notion for that.

In the picture below you see my projects set-up in Notion.
I have a database that stores each one of my projects.
In this database I assign all the tasks I need to do in order to achieve my goals for that project.
These projects are related to my areas.

AREAS
I like to see the area of responsibility as a life domain I need to maintain over time.
Some examples could include:
- Health
- Medicine
- Sleep
- Finances
- Social media
These don't have a finite date, in contrast to projects. They are on going.

In notion I treat my different areas as a database on its own.
This way I can quickly analyze which projects are going on for this life area.
I can also see which notes I have that are in relationship with this area.

RESOURCES
The resources are exactly what you would think it are.
Here you store all the data you use for your projects or life areas.
I use different databases that encapsulate the concept of resources.

The databases I use:
My inbox (Not processed yet):
- Notes
- Book Notes
My outbox:
- Main storage area with stored info.
- Processed notes, not stored yet.
- Permanent notes in Obsidian.
This is not as complicated as it looks. I basically have pre- and post processing notes.

ARCHIVE
This is where you store everything that you are not planning on using any time soon.
I have to make a small confession here.
I have not yet been keeping track of an archive.
However keeping an archive has benefits.

However keeping an archive has benefits.
Benefits of keeping an archive:
- Less clutter in your resource section.
- More focus on active domains.
- Less information to process during review sessions.
- Makes you think more critically about which data you really need.
Remember less clutter = more focus.

This was my mini Thread on the PARA method.
Maybe you want to hear me talk about one of the following subjects next time. Let me know in the comment section:

- Inbox and Outbox principle
- Plans. To do or not to do?

I also have exciting news.
