The 3 Routes To Fat Loss

Route 1: Nutrition

Eat fewer calories.

We all know this.

Route 1 tends to be the most effective route.

But there are a few drawbacks
- slows down metabolism and reduces activity a lot
- creates hunger
- may lead to lower energy

*This is viewed as the best option
Route 2: More Activity

This is your normal day to day activity.

Walk around more, clean, do something on your feet.

- Very low fatigue
- Gets hobbies and life stuff done
- Super well correlated with low bodyweight and sustained low weight

*Viewed as 2nd best option
Route 3: More formal exercise

This is purposeful exercise such as weight training or cardio.

- Lifting doesn’t burn a ton of calories per hour vs. cardio
- Cardio burns a lot, but just 1 hour or so per day, it’s not much in the grand scheme

*Viewed as 3rd best option
Fat loss isn't magic.

It's done by using these 3 levers.

The most ideal plan would include a combination of all 3 of these levers.

But, everyone's plan should differ based on goals, preferences, & lifestyle.
