While Watson was an early champion of important environmental initiatives (e.g., the Ottawa River Action Plan, complete streets), progress has stalled in recent years.

Ottawa's #carbon emissions continue to climb, #ottwalk and #ottbike continue to die on our streets, and vast swaths of #greenspace continue to be cut down to pave the way for more #sprawl.

Adding to this is iron-fisted rule over council votes. Watson's direction on committee structure has shut out hundreds of thousands of urban residents from having a meaningful say in the affairs of Ottawa. Voices are being ignored to our long-term detriment. #dontcutoutthecore
