I sometimes find it surprising how we're in such bad shape with the virus, given that just about everyone I know is very conscientious about masks, distancing, avoiding indoor gatherings, etc., and then I encounter people like this...

My wife and I took the kids to the playground this morning. Most of the time we were the only ones there, until this guy and his kids showed up. A man in his late 40's, with two boys, about age 10 and 8. We put on our masks, they didn't have any. Not really a big deal though.

Then we overheard the guy talking on the phone, and then to his kids.
On the phone, he was talking about his plans to go to a "protest" later. Then he told his kids they couldn't stay at the playground because he had to go get a haircut right then.
Jesus Christ.

But that's not the end of it.
While negotiating with his kids to get them to leave the playground, he offered to go buy them a milkshake and to take them to an indoor playscape.
And to top it all off, he reminded them that he expects them to be good when they visit grandma.

These people exist. They are not just caricatures on the internet.
They don't care about anybody.
And they are endangering all of us.
