Incredible to see how dominant SEO's become over the entire field of marketing.

No other tactic or topic comes close.
SEO garners 10-100X the search interest of:

- PPC
- Display Advertising
- PR (and Digital PR)
- Social Media Marketing
- Content Marketing (and Strategy)
- Email Marketing
Most surprising?

None of the major B2B marketing players (Salesforce, Hubspot, Microsoft, IBM, Cisco, ServiceNow, Zendesk, Shopify) focus on SEO.

To have this big a market with literally no public companies (except Yext) is shocking.
How have the private equity & VC fields slept on this for so long? In any other sector this size, there'd be 3-5 rollups, a bunch of M&A, 10X more institutionally funded companies.

SEO is a weirdly under-funded and invested-in sector. Does anyone know why?
Excellent point from Melissa: SEO *is* in the public markets via agencies, perhaps because it's viewed by investors as an un-productizable, service business. https://twitter.com/MelShust/status/1336803903023837189?s=19
