Breathing is something we just do: breathe, live; stop breathing, die. Breathing right works as a preventive maintenance, a way to retain balance in the body so that milder problems don’t blossom into more serious health issues. Most of us over breathe.
Between a dozen and 20 breaths a minute, with an average intake of about 0.5 litres or more of air per breath. Breathing too much can raise blood pressure, overwork the heart and lull our nervous systems into a state of stress. With some effort and training, you can set it right.
For me, the perfect breath is this: inhale for about 6secs, then exhale for 6. That’s 5 breaths a minute for a total of about 5 ltrs of air. Breathing right requires no wifi, smartphones, costs nothing, takes little time and effort, and u can do it wherever u are, whenever you need
