This thread is an important one to read as we look into the future of controlling this pandemic and as we look into what has gone wrong. As a health system, we tend to undervalue diagnostics tremendously. This is in investing, insurance, and in hospitals.

There have been incredible investment in vaccines and therapies, some may work most likely wrong won’t. But to know who to treat or where to distribute vaccines or even how to treat, we must first diagnose or test.

Oddly, in US but really across the globe, investment in diagnostics has taken a huge backseat for decades, despite that 80% or more medical decisions are made specifically based on diagnostic lab tests.
