Question #WGA: What would be the pros & cons of showrunners with Zoom rooms allowing a class of writers to observe us breaking story to try to train emerging writers in room work/behavior, etc., but outside the budget (so yeah harder for folks w regular hour day jobs?) What else?
In ordinary circumstances, I would not want a dozen writers watching us in a room for many reasons, but online on mute, I don't see much downside.
Another issue I can see might arise is if the showrunner had discussions w the class, to help them learn and process, and they wanted to pitch ideas, there would be an issue because it's unpaid. So there would need to be a no pitch rule?
Also open to ideas on how these writers might be compensated as paid interns, assistants or trainees of some type.
