Good and Evil are making a comeback

The 20th century saw a major shift towards a secular/materialist moral framework that was an evolution of secular liberalism & the idea that Humanity did not require any sort of Theism of any kind to manage & modulate itself

Has this worked?
No.

To fill the vacuum a politicized morality has taken its place, and Codes, Commandments, and Creeds have been abandoned in favor of the intersectional "diversity, tolerance, inclusion" and the worship of all change being progress and all technology being "Good"
This has not worked.

the rise in societal unhappiness, suicide, prescription drug abuse, obesity, and polarization, along with increasing sectarian/partisan violence and the desire for a war to resolve it would say its a failure
The worship of the self and championing of decadence do not make for a sustainable culture

A "MeToo" culture that prioritizes speaking YOUR truth as THE truth is a narcissistic one
Transcendent Good and Evil are the bedrock of Religion, and "religion" itself is making comeback, although in a different form from the stupidity of fundamentalism
Proven behavioral/moral framework and heuristic rules are MORE reliable for operating within a chaotic, complex system than any kind of constantly updating "user manual" of correctness.
There is also a recognition of human ignorance; the "truth" has become suspect, and no institution is trusted anymore. Human beings no longer trust themselves, the dissonance that is encountered daily can be mind shattering.
When existence is pain and the further proliferation of information only seems to increase ones suffering, annihilation seems like a reasonable option. Climate science plays this up quite well (the world ending in 12 years bullshit)
A belief in "higher power" is a mismodeling. An understanding that there is power and reality beyond you reckoning, understanding, and perception is more accurate.

What does this lead to?
A religious revival, and a reinterpretation of Christianity as a model for how the world operates and how to behave in it, not what it is materialistically "made of" and what it explains.

Or said another way,

Being "religious" is an EFFECTIVE way to operate.
Whether everything is "true" is secondary.

It doesnt matter whether things are fully "factually" true, what matters is their pragmatic lesson in how they teach you to Live https://cortes.site/newsletter/
