My CAC score is ZERO after two years of "very elevated cholesterol" on a carnivore diet. There are many other cases like mine- can we please admit that the lipid hypothesis is deeply flawed?
There is no evidence that LDL causes atherosclerosis on its own. End of story. We need to stop fear-mongering about this valuable lipoprotein and start educating people about the real underlying issue here- which appears to be insulin resistance.
The lipid hypothesis is dead. Admit it. And not just because of my n=1 case, but because of the now hundreds of other cases like this and the large amount of data showing this model to be flawed.
Anyone care to guess my LDL? I'll happily share all of my data. And just for the record, my fasting insulin is 3, and my particle size is 24.7 nm.
LDL zealots, where are you now? Surely some will scream, "anecdote," but how many cases like this are needed before the prevailing paradigm is deeply questioned?
And I don't want to hear a peep from anyone who is not willing to share their own lipids and CAC score!
And finally, we must ask the question, with such elevated LDLs, how long before we see evidence of plaque? 1 year? 5 years? 10? There are cases of those with elevated LDL (while insulin sensitive) for all of these time periods with zero CACs.
