[food/diet]

If you're chronically ill, do you restrict your diet* to help manage your symptoms?

*in any way, from following a formal protocol to avoiding your own collection of trigger foods
well this is going to be one of those polls that makes me mad, isn't it?
like I have had other conversations about this so I know a lot of people change their diets, and also I know that the formal diets often get promoted in gross ways, but this is skewing way more than I expected based on how far this is from common knowledge.
I just, this makes me mad in a few ways:

-mocking dietary restrictions as hilariously fabricated is still totally on the table (hello, Allison from Grace & Frankie, a generally progressive show)

-we cannot act like everyone has the option of avoiding restrictive diets entirely
-and there are some CI communities where restrictive diets are written off as placebo type stuff and like, it's fine if you don't want to promote any diets, but it's incredibly invalidating to act like only [hysterical] people think they benefit from dietary restrictions.
