So something strange has been floating around the interwebs of late. Does the speed of light really match the latitudinal coordinates of the Great #Pyramid at #Giza???

The truth is, yes, yes they do! This is admittedly amazing!

But, what should we make of it? Let’s explore!
As a wise Cardassian once said “I believe in coincidences, coincidences happen every day. BUT, I don’t trust coincidences.”

An unexpected coincidence of this degree certainly deserves exploring, but it should also set off our skeptical warning buzzers. How could this be???
First, and foremost, could the Ancient Egyptians have known the speed of light?

Um, actually I don’t know. Someone get us a physicist who can explain how the speed of light is measured.

Let’s imagine they did know the speed of light.
What is the speed of light being measured in? Meters per second. The metric system was adopted in France in 1795. An Ancient Egyptian could not possibly know what a meter was!

<hush! Go away Doctor, I’m trying to make a point>
Could the Egyptians have know what a second was? Same problem, they were interested in time but did not use the same system that we do.

What about the coordinates? Like the metric system, the latttude & longitude system of coordinates was established in Europe many years later.
So unless we invent a time machine.

<I said go away Doctor!>

It is impossible for the Egyptians to have known what a meter, a second, or latitude were. Even if, they happened to know the speed of light.
So, by its very nature this must be a coincidence.

Dear reader, be like Garak, believe in coincidences, but don’t trust coincidences.
