#Patriots fans need to have Dante Pettis on their radar, especially after losing Amendola today. This is filthy against press. Swipes down on the CBs hands, gets inside leverage, catches the ball on the slant with the CB on his back.
The knock on Pettis is that he isn't an "elite" athlete but you don't need to run a 4.4 to be a good deep threat. This is textbook route running. Eliminate the cushion vs CB, one step outside your frame with shoulder fake, blow past the coverage. Easy TD. #Patriots
Watch how he runs this corner route. Setup is absolutely perfect and he destroys the CB. Browning just stinks and can't get him the ball. #Patriots
The quickness of his releases and the strength to run through contact are impressive. Almost gets drag down by the CB, runs through the contact, makes the CB fall down, makes the circus catch, and draws a holding call. #Patriots
And Pettis is one of the best returners in the history of college football. Has a great feel for it. Great at navigating tight spaces, has tremendous vision, and plenty of speed to pull away. #Patriots
Seriously you don't want to punt to this guy. The moves he makes in the middle of the field to bounce it outside đź‘€ #Patriots
Pettis has a second round grade for me. Gonna be a day two guy you'd think. Best route runner other than D.J. Moore that I've seen. Tremendous on special teams. Receiving skills remind me of Chris Hogan but with higher upside. #Patriots
I'm probably a little higher on Pettis than others because I prioritize route running over everything. He's so skilled in that area for a college prospect. Can play slot or outside. Big time returner. Gotta think BB will love what he brings. #Patriots
