The club sandwich from The Moose in Attawapiskat is one of the best I’ve ever had

This will now serve as a thread for the club sandwiches I eat while on the road. I got this one at The Myrt in Mattawa, Ont. I ordered it on rye, which may not have been the best call, but I still give it 8.5/10 #ClubhouseTravels

The club sandwich from Stella’s in Winnipeg. 7/10

The Clubhouse Sandwich from Timbers Restaurant in Thunder Bay. Pretty decent ingredient balance; excellent presentation. 7.6/10 #ClubhouseTravels

9.5/10 for the Clubhouse from Valois Restaurant in Mattawa, Ont. The only points lost were because of no choice of bread (I prefer whole wheat), but oh boy, what a sandwich!

Last night's Clubhouse at the Beltliner in downtown Calgary. The sandwich itself was good (7/10) but the fries were really bad - either old or overdone. My buddy's fries were bad too so he let our server know, and she offered us free pie! Moral of the story: always complain.

7.4/10 for the “English Club” at the Hotel Saskatchewan in Regina. I was skeptical about the fried egg, but it wasn’t weird. The apple bacon jam was a nice touch. It lost points for processed turkey and ham, but gained some for creativity.

I wasn’t on the road today, but @sarah_g_rice was, and she brought me back the Clubhouse from the Spanish River Inn on Highway 17. Real chicken breast and bacon done just right score this fine sandwich a 8/10

7.1/10 for the Foundry Club House from The Foundry in Thunder Bay. Too much bread, but otherwise very good.

6.7/10 for the Club House from the Hungry Bear Restaurant in French River, Ont. Obviously processed turkey and generic bagged bread aren’t ideal, but sometimes everything can come together tastily enough.

8.2/10 for the Chicken Club from the District Eatery in Toronto. Not too shabby for a big city club! The havarti cheese was a delightful surprise.

This thread is exclusively for the clubhouse sandwiches I eat while on the road. But I won’t be travelling far for a while, so I ordered one in from a local restaurant tonight. A club via delivery just isn’t the same. Lesson learned.

Another one for the stay-at-home clubhouse sandwich file: the new Nashville Club from the Hardrock 42 Gastropub in downtown Sudbury. The paprika breaded chicken makes it a bit of a novelty club, but overall still very tasty. The provolone’s a nice touch, too. 8.1/10

This mission to find the best clubhouse in the land is obviously on hold because of the pandemic, so the proprietor of the Wild Rice Cafe (AKA @sarah_g_rice at home) took pity on me today and made this club for my lunch. 10/10!

My quest for the best club sandwich in the land is on hold because of the pandemic. But tonight I happened to find myself in Mattawa, so you bet your ass I came back to the Valois for another taste of their near-perfect club. Hopefully my quest can properly resume in 2021.
