The Founders of this great country studied human nature. They knew evil and they knew that fighting evil was a constant struggle. So they gave us built in defenses against evil and the baser side of human nature.

They gave us the 1st amendment to fight weaponized information in the hands of a few evil people and to make sure we could always pray for divine intervention in whatever way we desired.

They gave us the 2nd amendment to fight the danger of guns being in the hands of a few evil people.

They gave us the 3rd amendment to fight an evil gov using a standing army to police and browbeat us by denying then the ability to be supplied and housed by those they were set to watch.

They gave us the 4th amendment to stop a few evil power hungry men from listening, searching and controlling our entire lives.

They gave us the 5th amendment to make sure evil men could not use the very laws against us. Could not endlessly have us in court until they got the verdict they wanted, that we would have due process in all matters of law.

They gave us the 6th amendment to protect us from the evil people who thought nothing of conducting witch trials. They gave us our day in court to defend ourselves. That is what up to the accusers to give evidence and face us in front of our peers.

They gave us the 7th amendment to make sure even with civil actions brought against us by evil people, we could defend ourselves in front of a jury of our peers.

They gave us the 8th amendment to make sure the government could not make the punishment for crimes exceed the nature of the crime itself.

They gave us the 9th amendment so that we had a safety clause in case they missed anything. That we retained our rights given to us by God regardless of if they were listed in the Constitution.

Finally they gave us the 10th amendment that sought to limit the power the evil could hold over the population if it ever came into power.

We as a society may no longer believe in evil or human nature, however it is still out there. It hasn't changed. Call it what you will. The desire for power over another is as alive today as it was then. The desire to embrace the baser human emotions and thoughts is still there.

We still need those defenses. Humans have not become Angels. We continue to allow those defenses to be reduced in the mistaken belief that they are no longer needed. That humans have moved beyond the need for their protections.

Yet the evidence we are seeing daily says this belief is wrong and we do in fact still need them, things like FISA abuse, the mass shootings, the propaganda from all sides, the lack of Justice of the elites, the metoo hysteria, the growth of power in a few hands. Internal spying

If we give up these precious defenses and rights, it will be our own safety we sacrifice. Humans have not changed. We still have a daily struggle with evil, with human nature. In fact IMO we need these protections now more than ever because many no longer see the danger.

Do not go gently into that good night.
