Every so often, I'll search for 外国人 on Google Japan. There's usually a photo next to the Wikipedia link. For a long time, it's been this flying tie guy.
Today, this bloke has started popping up.
He's in a lot of shutterstock-type galleries.
This is the most common photo of a woman to pop up in my browser during a search for 外国人. YMMV.
Flying tie guy is back. Now trying to decide if this should be a boost for my self-esteem.
Just a thought. Wonder what I'll get searching for イギリス人?

Oh, come on, now....
Google image search now has a photo of sociologist Kiyoto Tanno as the top result for 外国人. He's written reserach on migrant workers in Japan, so there is that, I suppose.
Things have taken an other odd turn.
New one is a melancholy foreigner, having a think. Bit close to home.
Everything has suddenly become very impersonal.
