I’ve told people onhere, in polite ways, that they don’t have range or are wrong. People have told me. I’ve received it & did my homework. You can’t say “make it plain so everyone can get it!!!” and not have a teachable spirit.
I remember being 21 & KNOWING I knew everything. And I got into this FIERCE debate, & I was wrong as fuck, it turned out. I was explaining it to one of my favorite church Auntees and she flatly looked at me over her glasses & said “it’s because you don’t have a teachable spirit.”
I was taken ABACK, Hunty. I was in college and I’m thinking (in my mind) these poors have never left their Block or been past Druid Hill Park. Tf she mean I don’t have a teachable spirit? “What does that even mean??”
And she explained to me how it your spirit/countenance/being isn’t reachable or ready - then how can you learn?
And it’s easy to yell “DON’T TELL ME GO TO GOOGLE!!!” “Don’t belittle me!!!” “The average person doesn’t know what this means!!!” But when have you humbled yourself and admitted you’re out of range and asked for help??
Saying those things makes it easy to make the teacher always the culprit as to why you can’t get it. But learning and being WILLING to learn means shutting your mouth and opening both your mind and your eyes. And not being afraid to ask questions you REALLY want answers to
So that’s all I wanted to say. A lot of you onhere don’t have teachable spirits. Open up, don’t be afraid to admit you don’t know, don’t be afraid to ask questions. That’s all I wanted💜
