Nearly two weeks ago I had a breakthrough about myself, quoted here.

Knowledge is not just useless without action, it is a poison.

So, on Thanksgiving, heres an update: https://twitter.com/yaycapitalism/status/929551696472272897

I've spent a cumulative total of four hours on separate days cleaning my (two) room(s). Put away projects that weren't going to be finished. Consolidated some memories. Finally the floor can be seen. My desk is still an absolute disaster zone, however. That will be next.
Once my room is tidied and clear of debris, the more difficult task will ensue: building it to fulfill my exact purposes.

Rooms should have purposes.

What I need are these:

Space for sleep
Space for recreation
Space for work

These spaces can NOT intermingle.
In ancient history this is known as a purity code. Mental boundaries.

Crossing these boundaries can bring heavy prices

If unsure, check with every sleepy millenial who spends three hours a day texting from their bed until 2am but have 'no idea why I can't fall asleep at night'
But there's another reason for this.

We often have no idea what our brain is up to. In fact, there are sections of our brain DEVOTED to self-deception (ego).

So how does the segmentation of your household help?

It brings awareness.
Two men.

One separates his rooms. Work, play, sleep.

The other, does all three wherever he wants.

Who is able to stay focused?

The one man KNOWS when he's distracted, because he's in the wrong room. The other man can lie to himself.
But it's not just about awareness, it's training your brain activity.

You create a spot for leisure, and your brain learns to relax in that spot.

Spot for work, and your brain spools up the turbo.

Spot for sleep, your brain shuts down.

You're training your state of being.
