Earliest reference to Ramayana in Tamil lands occur in Sangam lit. itself. Atleast 2 Sangam era poems mentions events of Ramayana. 2/n
Poem in Akananuru refers to the council held by Lord Rama at Dhanushkodi (from where Ramsetu begins) before waging war on Sri Lanka.3/n
I was planning to add a lovely couplet on Srirangam by Periyalva & some info. on other temples like Rameshwaram..1/2
However I had to restrict myself since thread was getting too long and I was trying to keep it concise. 2/2
The thread was meant to showcase the rich legacy of Tamilnadu. I stopped at 19th CE so as not enter politics into it.
