Joakim Noah's performance goes down as one of the greats in Bulls playoff history. The numbers: 24-14, 6 blocks, Game 7, one foot, one win.
Just saw news that Joakim Noah will likely retire. Of all my memories of this all-time great Bull, two stand out. First is The Steal. For a full game, though, Game 7 of the 2013 Nets series: 24-14, 6 blocks, and the only road G7 win in franchise history.
It says a lot about a player when your strongest memories of him come in the postseason. For Noah, that's his masterpiece in the 2006 national title game with Florida, his NBA masterpiece against the Nets (above), and his singular NBA moment: https://twitter.com/readjack/status/1123204147770163201
Joakim Noah's play the entire 2009 Celtics series was marvelous. 10-13 + 2 blocks per game.

There was NOTHING like the steal and dunk in Game 6.

But there was another reason that game, and Noah, mattered to Bulls fans. This celebration with fans:
That Celtics series established Noah as the 1a to Derrick's 1, and when the 1 goes down, you don't always see the 1a become the 1. But that's exactly what Jo did in 2013 and 2014. https://twitter.com/readjack/status/745827573725179905
Go back to the 2013 Nets series. Two starters out (Deng and Hinrich) forced second-year pro Jimmy Butler to play 48 minutes in Games 6 and 7, and forced Noah into the game of his life with an injured foot.

Again: Only road G7 win in team history. https://twitter.com/readjack/status/1334031922868211714
In two seasons where Derrick played a total of 10 games, Joakim Noah willed himself into a star.

12-11, 2 steals, 1 block, 2x All-Star, 2x 1st team D, 2014 DPOY, 2014 All-NBA 1st team.

2013-2018 All-NBA 1st teamers from the East:

Jo was a leader off the court too, and the same way he was on the court: hands on, with passion and results.

The work he did with Father @MichaelPfleger and Saint Sabina changed lives: https://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/chicago-bulls-joakim-noah-derrick-rose-peace-tournament/1935275/

From @chicagobulls:
Thank you @JoakimNoah for all you meant to the Bulls, and Chicago! Whatever happens next, you're an all-timer.
