Interesting that the PLA actually released night time footage of the Galwan standoff. The 5:1 casualty exchange ratio is probably a reasonable assessment of how another sino-Indian war would go a second time around. There are actually a lot of physical tells that the Chinese were https://twitter.com/evazhengll/status/1362738610915717120
far better prepared for a fight than the Indians were. The Chinese soldiers have better (warmer) cold weather gear than the Indians. Is clear from the close ups of negotiating officers. The Chinese are all in rubber waders to avoid the cold war. Many of the Indian casualties died
of exposure and hypothermia and not from directly being bonked. The Indian soldiers can be see wading into that freezing stream directly. Keeping your feet dry is like rule number 1 in the army, applies to the freezing Himalayas even more than in hot jungles. You are just asking
for frostbite going into the water unprepared like that. Final biggest give away is that the Chinese soldiers are all decked out in riot gear while the Indians aren't. Having body armor is a huge advantage in melee combat. It's honestly surprising that Indians attacking into that
didn't even take more casualties though I suppose the night time skirmish prevented the Chinese from pursuing and delivering the coup de grâce to the runners which usually account for the bulk of the dead.
