Some theses about Twitter:

1. Critiquing Twitter is tedious and unnecessary, except on Twitter, where it is obligatory and pleasurable
2. We would all be better off if Twitter collapsed, but we would not all be better off to quit it individually
3. Twitter is a workplace, the world's largest open-plan office
4. Twitter is affect pretending to be data
5. Twitter has accelerated the consumption of events to the brink of automation, an industrial speed-up of the collective unconscious. This is surprisingly unprofitable
6. Writing tweets is all editing
7. Learning to think in tweets means learning to cut thoughts off before they get unruly
8. Donald Trump was the best Twitter user of all time, and he was finally removed only because his failure to maintain power proved Twitter was a paper tiger
9. Being able to effect someone else's numbers feels like human connection. If follower, retweet and fave counts were invisible the algorithm's domination would be intolerably visible
