These conversations abled naming of diseases, etc. Unfortunately, many of those inventions/discoveries remained in silos, and massive global dissemination was impossible in real time. Moreover, tracking the origins and giving merits was difficult.

Today is easier. But as everything, it has some side effects. Naming is IMPORTANT. Eponyms and clinical descriptions deserves caution and uniformity

So we, peds, were talking (pretty much) online BEFORE #peereview about this new syndrome. And almost instantly, all around the global we were aware of this new entity which was named with several acronyms ( #hashtags)

So 2 problems we had: proper NAMING and online PERCEPTION of what was happening.
Was the “online world” reflecting the real clinical impact at the bedside (offline world and MIS-C real prevalence)?
The syndrome still is REALLY rare at a population level
