There is no law against homosexuality, just a law against certain sexual activities that the law deems unnatural. Accordingly, it is not unlawful to identify as a homosexual or lesbian (i.e. a person who feels romantic or sexual attraction to persons of the same sex). https://twitter.com/pulseghana/status/1362481147406598148
Admittedly certain sexual activity between homosexual or lesbian couples may fall within the scope of prohibited sexual activities, but there is no presumption that persons who identify as homosexual or lesbian are having these sexual activities at all or intend to do so within..
... the jurisdiction.

That would be tantamount to saying that every person who identifies as heterosexual is engaging in sexual activity (prohibited or otherwise), and I know from personal experience that that’s not true. I am heterosexual and I have never engaged in any sexual
...activity nor do I intend to for the remainder of my days.

Thus we can all converge at the point where we agree that there is no statutory presumption or necessary implication that a person who identifies either as homosexual or heterosexual is having or intends to have sex...
...whether prohibited or otherwise.

Now if there is no presumption that a person who identifies as a homosexual is engaging in prohibited sexual activity, then advocacy for the rights of such persons (i.e. the rights of persons who identify as homosexual NOT persons who are...
...engaging in prohibited sexual activity, whether heterosexual or homosexual) is neither against the law nor, depending on what rights you’re talking about, against the national interest.

So what does this advocacy for the rights of persons who identify as homosexual entail?
Advocacy is the defence and public support of a cause. The right to advocate, while not expressly provided for by the Constitution, is grounded in the rights to expression, freedom of thought, conscience and belief and the right to assembly, the right to form associations etc etc
What rights are persons who identify as homosexual asking for? Persons who identify as homosexual want to be guaranteed the protection of their human rights. The same human rights that the Constitution gives everyone, without distinction. They want to be able to publicly....
identify as homosexual without facing violence from their communities. They want the protection of law enforcement agencies when their human rights are threatened. They want recognition of their identity and policy that meets their needs etc etc.
Our Constitution guarantees human rights for every person without distinction. Everyone, without distinction, is entitled to protection against violation of their rights. Everyone without distinction is entitled to freedom from violence. Everyone without distinction is entitled..
...to their right to privacy and dignity. etc etc.

The Constitution provides for equality in the application of the law, and only subjects the enjoyment of human rights to the respect for the rights of others and the public interest. Meaning that your rights cannot be taken...
...from you, except for the purposes of protecting the rights of others and the public interest.

And so I’d argue that advocacy that is targeted at ensuring equal treatment of all citizens is in the public interest rather than against it, because such advocacy would be targeted
...at ensuring that the Constitution is adhered to, which is what we all want.

As it stands, persons who identify as homosexuals continue to face violations of their human rights on account of their identity. Heterosexual folk who engage in similarly prohibited sexual...
activity do not face the same dangers or threat to their privacy. For example, invading the home of two suspected homosexual men who live together to accost them in a prohibited act would be considered just. Invading the home of a heterosexual couple to accost them in a....
... prohibited act would be considered an egregious breach of the right to privacy. Heterosexual folk do not face violence on account of the fact that they engage in anal sex or oral sex, but homosexual folk face violence on account of their engagement in identical acts. Surely..
this can’t be equality?

Remember, once again, that your rights cannot be taken from you, except for the purposes of protecting the rights of others and the public interest. Certainly, when persons identify as homosexuals they do not infringe on the rights of others. And as...
identification of a person as homosexual is not against any law, it cannot be said that advocacy for the rights of homosexuals = advocacy for criminal activity. Because again, identifying as a homosexual person is not against any law. What the law prohibits is certain sexual...
...acts which may be engaged in by both heterosexual persons and homosexual persons.

And so if advocacy for the rights of persons who identify as homosexuals to be treated as everyone else is not advocacy for criminal activity, then what exactly is the interest of the public...
...that is being harmed by said advocacy?

Why do we need a law that criminalizes advocacy for the rights of homosexuals?
