...and contained a commitment (no 6) to "ensure communication campaigns are inclusive of men and boys to raise awareness of male victims and encourage male victims and survivors to report abuse". I've even been very involved in work on this #VAWG refresh... (7 of 11)

I 100% believe that #VAWG should mean #VAWG and I hope this @GOVUK @ukhomeoffice refresh of the #VAWG Strategy does that... (8 of 11)
... but today, after watching that @ukhomeoffice video calling for voices to be heard I'm also going to allow myself to be confused. I thought this #VAWG work was inclusive understanding men like me, male survivors of sexual violence... (9 of 11)
... and yet, nothing is telling me that anymore. I'm not saying #WhatAboutMe, if #VAWG is finally meaning #VAWG I'm celebrating that! Finally, talking about the action that needs to be taken to eradicate violence against women and girls can actually be that... (10 of 11)
...and we can stop clumsily and loosely pinning male survivors onto a strategy that isn't called for us. But without that clarity, I'm left with what? the permission to feel ignored, negated, silenced, not worthy of being thought about? Feels like abuse that. (11 of 11) #MEtoo
