First up, we look at young men in urban India (20-29 yrs) and found that 1 in 5 young men are not looking for jobs (a 14% decadal jump) and are staying longer in education + looking for formal jobs

Next, we looked at gender gap in employment by comparing two age groups: 20-29 years and 30-49 years. Nearly 64% young men, but only 16% of young women are employed. Even in progressive TN and Karnataka, only 20-22% young urban women were in paid work.

3rd article focuses on sectoral trajectories of prosperous states' economies and their influence on inclusive growth. We find that states with more balanced development models + focus on labor-intensive sectors spread prosperity wider.

In our most recent article, we explore changes in education + employment pattern of young urban Indian men (25-35 years) by caste groups and find
in employment share of OBC, SC, ST to ~50% in real estate + biz services in 2017-18.

We also find that returns to education of young people belonging to non-marginalized castes continues to remain higher than marginalized caste groups at all levels of education and the differences become larger among young adults with tertiary education.
