A quick update on this - the report has now been changed, without public acknowledgement, in the middle of the night. Kaufmann has not acknowledged the change or the original error - I know about it because others are now flagging it and claiming (wrongly) it was there all along. https://twitter.com/robfordmancs/status/1362347690592468994
Here is a thread detailing the change, made about 11pm last night. I am glad someone at Policy Exchange has seen why original version was so problematic but I can't say the method chosen to make it signals much commitment to transparency of accountability https://twitter.com/jdportes/status/1362669685452464130
Here is what good faith academic accountability looks like: publicly acknowledge the error, explain why you made the origina decision, explain why you think subsequent criticism has merit, publicly amend report, detailing both amendment and why it was made
Here is what bad faith academic accountabiity: publicly ignore or ridicule claims there is an error, make no explanation for the original decision (or deny it), then silently amend report in the middle of the night the day after multiple detailed accounts of the error
Original report on left, silently amended report on right: https://twitter.com/alexandreafonso/status/1362675621671956480
