This was an extreme auction. Players like Alex Hales, Jason Roy, Sam Billings, Aaron Finch, Evin Lewis remained unsold
Many people are arguing why such good players remained unsold.
The reason is because in ipl auction every team buys what they need. It is all about demand and supply. Most of the overseas batsman remained unsold because teams want quality os pacers and all rounders

DC and MI are the only two teams with good indian batsman. Other team like RCB, KKR, Rajasthan Royals, Chennai lacks good indian batsman. But most of the teams already have a few os batsman , so they don't need.
Coming to os pacers, I think they are a bit overrated. If Starc would have given his name for auction then he would have surpassed @imVkohli and would have become most expensive buy ever.

I think maxwell would turn out to be a good buy this season because I think this time IPL will be scheduled in India. If he plays at Chinnaswamy then he will surely make runs. He has a international T20 century to his name in Chinnaswamy and Wankhede might also suit him
