I over heard an older lady with mobility issues ask for assistance shopping because she couldn’t lift anything. The store indicated that worker was on break so I offered. She handed me a list and said “I make it as detailed as possible in case this happens”
What took me 10 minutes would have taken her hours. I drove her home and she ended up living a block from me. She kept offering to hire me and it was literally 10 minutes out of my day. We now have a date every second Friday.
I wasn’t going to tweet about this because it sounds ostentatious but it made me notice that things are easy for me, even simple things like getting groceries. I need to be more observant and purposeful with my time and I need to call my grandma.
I feel full of gratitude that I made a new friend and I know she appreciated the gesture and equally as guilty because I am so far from my grandma and she pays someone obscene amounts of money to do this for her (she has very little $) and I wish someone would show her kindness.
