Change my mind.
- L2s overblown as an Ethereum scaling solution.
- The fee savings are good, but not that good. Especially in this market.
- Multiple L2 solutions more harm than good: they segment the market, fees get worse not better for customers using apps on different L2s.

- L2 interop tech is nascent at best: not integrated, will support token transfers only, come with same old security tradeoffs, won’t support remote contract calls for a while, maybe ever.
- Flow blockchain/NBA Top Shot is a devastating case study for L2 people: mainstream users want usable apps, not ideological preferences. They will use what’s usable.
- Fast base layers are slower than rollups, but not that much slower. And they’re cheaper. And in market now!

Epilogue:
To be clear, I think L2s are super cool tech, they will exist, and there are many angles to making them competitive overall.
I just think they are fraught in the context of being the panacea to all of Ethereum’s problems.
But I also want to be proven wrong.
