This clubhouse session really has me thinking. So, excuse me while I make a thread
There's a stereotype for artists (across all mediums) use pain as their number one muse. And I realized that I subconsciously felt myself "less" of an artist cause I've never done that
I love to create in a space of happiness. I feel like life really sucks for so many (myself included) that art should be reserved for happy moments. I want something so sacred to me should be pure, innocent. Art is love to me, and love and sadness do not mix (I thought)
But now I wonder if my perspective is off. There is still love in pain. Pain serves a purpose and should be utilized as such. It's as important to life as happiness is, truly. Pain also, doesn't stain, it sculpts. So painful art can still be pure and love in its own way
I also realize that limiting your creativity to only one emotion is limiting yourself. So, I say all this to say, Ima be making sad art now too lol
