Every time we discuss issues involving how women feel in the scene it reminds me what people prioritize over the feelings and safety of women
The objectifying Pyra/Mythra thing today started because a WOMAN was stating she FELT UNCOMFORTABLE by a thumbnail/blatant objectification
This alerted other women to what was happening and they also got uncomfortable & talked about it/raised their concerns. But instead of listening to the people who are uncomfortable and a group that has been constantly treated poorly in the community (which people vow to improve),
Smash Twitter instead made literally any argument possible to defend the thing making women uncomfortable.

And this is unfortunately what always happens. When talking about not making jokes at the expense of women, they get told "it's just jokes" and to not get offended.
When it's about believing the women/victims in cases of sexual harassment/assault, smash twitter tells them to go to the cops instead. When it's about ANYTHING that women want to change to help them feel better and safer in the community, it's ignored no matter the issue.
This shit is what needs to change in the community. instead of being defensive, we need to listen and empathize with people that experience things differently than us. Their experiences are different than men's in ways we CAN'T relate to, so we need to listen instead.
We need to stand up for the women of our scene instead of battling against them at every turn. It's exhausting for them and often times they just leave because the scene won't change and we get left with garbage/perpetuated problems that HAVE BEEN TOLD TO US.

It's unacceptable
