My late & beloved father was conservative enough that years after his death liberal friends of his have said to me, "I'd like to see how he'd have defended Trump!"
But 1. my father would have loathed President Trump (don't know how he felt about non-President Trump). He detested frauds.
2. though he voted for Republican presidential candidates from the 70s through the aughts, he was so appalled by the Bush response to Katrina that he never did again.
He was a devoted Obama supporter. I hope that there are some Texans looking at our Republican leaders, making a similar decision.
The fallout from the power failures across this state will be shocking. People barely holding on because of the pandemic will fall off cliffs. People who fell off cliffs will be dead.
Small businesses, too: burst pipes, property damage, no business, no additional supplies.
There are unavoidable things when Texas gets cold. No snowplows because there's no point. People need to stay home when it's icy.
But there's a lot of tragedy that will become visible simply because people didn't have power.
