every time someone mentions Sia’s movie I see people say “I feel so sorry for maddie she didn’t want to do it”- people seem to be more concerned about the impact Music might have on Maddie Ziegler’s career than the very real dangerous impact it’s having on the autistic community
maddie Ziegler is a wealthy, neurotypical, white, young, woman. She’ll be fine. Even if she never worked in the industry again, she’s made her millions she could retire now & never have to work another day in her life. She’ll be fine. Also she’s 18 now and she could address it
I’m not trying to cancel Maddie, apart from her not addressing it now she’s 18 lol, I agree with people saying she didn’t know any better if the adults around her who she trusted told her it was okay. But stop making her out to be the victim in this situation
I love how most of the replies are still “I know what you mean... BUT I still want to talk about maddie, stop blaming her” I’m not blaming her, but if you watch this film and the first thing you speak about is how bad you feel for Maddie, you need to get your priorities straight
exactly, the prone restraint is portrayed as a necessary act of love in the film & as something that everyone who cares for an autistic person will “have to do at some point”. To someone who doesn’t read all the controversy, they take that advice & could kill an autistic person https://twitter.com/sadboiiisyd/status/1362618836340658180
