Polls with no soul: GA Republicans move to prohibit Sunday early voting, a day when places of worship open their doors to voters—especially voters of color. HB531 closes those previously open doors, and locks them—shutting out entire communities from the ballot box.
Elderly, poor, or disabled need not try: GA GOP leaders want to force voters to find a scanner, printer, and high-speed internet to send proof of their ID to vote absentee. If grandma is on a fixed income and can’t afford a printer or phone, she can’t vote absentee. #stopHB531
AND HB531 will cut the time that voters can request their absentee ballots, giving us LESS TIME to request, receive, and cast out ballots. #STOPHB531
Drop boxes are a safe, cheap, and available way to vote-especially since hundreds of polling sites have closed since 2013. HB531 will wipe out DBs statewide, making it harder and less safe to vote. #StopHB531
County low on election $$? Too bad. HB531 would BAN outside funding for elections AFTER GA received millions to help us run our Nov. & Jan. elections. Low resources = lower voter turnout. #STOPHB531
Work a full time job? Have kids? Running late? Need to vote? Too bad. HB531 prohibits counties from extending early vote hours-severely cutting the time that voters can vote. Not ok. #STOPHB531
Remember how that mobile voting bus in Fulton Co. helped voters and election workers, by keeping lines down? No more. HB531 will STOP counties from using busses to keep lines down. Long lines = harder to vote. #STOPHB531.
