I've joked about this before, but it's not really a joke - most networks/streaming services need a "fandom consultant," because most (if not all) have no idea how to handle really passionate people who really love their product. It should be obvious, but it really, really isn't.
Let's, for example, look at the promotion side of it. Fans literally just want crumbs. They'll be happy with the bare minimum. And more often than not they don't even get that.
Then there's the "teasing" that's outright lying and baiting, the way some properties constantly promote the wrong thing because they don't seem to understand what people care about and oh, yes, being dismissive of fans.
It's super easy to please people who are already invested in what you're selling. And yes, you might think you don't need to, they're already fans. But happy fans invest more time, engage more, and spend more money. It's a business, and most are still doing it wrong.
