Eritrean refugees are not the regime. The people in Eritrea are not the regime.

Eritrean refugees and the people IN Eritrea are victims of this situation as well as Isaias’s regime. Isaias regime is the force behind Eritrea’s terrible crimes in Tigray.
Like @BigPiimpin said, war is grey. To silence Eritrean refugees because “Eritreans” are attacking Tegaru civilians is unacceptable. Eritrea is an authoritarian state. Refugees & the civilians IN Eritrea are victims of the same force attacking Tegarus. Please use context.
To demonize the people who have been victims of the very regime attacking Tegarus now for the past 30 years is beyond outrageous. Imagine suffering + being silenced for 30 years only to be lumped together with your oppressors and demonized for their crimes against another group.
Yes, we should all raise our voices to stop the violence against Tegarus because they are specifically being targeted. But to publicly make statements about “Eritreans” without using context makes an extremely vulnerable group even more vulnerable to further violence.
Especially considering that Eritrea & Eritrean issues have always been marginalized in the media by
Ethiopia’s visibility & global recognition as a state.
& the only reason I’m talking about Ethiopia’s visibility is because of this:

If you used to claim an Ethiopian national identity, please consider the weight of your words in comparison to the words of an Eritrean. This is coming from the perspective of an Eri-American.
