Anyone who’s used drugs of any sort, even alcohol, can tell you that it distorts your understanding of reality.

Postmodernism does too. In denying objective reality, it allows each of us to choose the reality we want to experience, even if that doesn’t align with what’s real

It also makes it impossible to trust your perceptions.

If nothing is true, how can you believe anything? You would have to doubt everything, including your own existence.

But that’s not how we actually experience the world.

Furthermore, The moral relativism that comes with it allows people to feel virtuous without actually being virtuous.

Each person gets to choose what is right and wrong based on what they want to be, or feel to be, right and wrong.

This moral relativism means that there can be no right and wrong at all, leading to the breakdown of societal norms and our understanding of morality, ethics, and justice.

But that’s not the only thing that relativism hurts.

It also describes our understanding of beauty. An attack on truth is also an attack on beauty, because they go hand-in-hand.

True beauty brings joy and wonder into our lives. Ugliness passed off as beauty embitters us.

-Destroying beauty
-Undermining ethical frameworks
-Dividing the people
-Being skeptical of everything but it’s own skepticism
