so, just a note about sea lions and why they suck.
the sea lion claim is always that you have to prove thing x to talk about thing x or have an opinion. "how dare you slander slate star codex! give us a link or be silent!" (for example.)
but no one actually has conversations like this. if you are talking about something you have knowledge of, to people who follow you and are interested in your opinion, you don't necessarily always have to provide receipts.
twitter isn't an academic peer reviewed process.
sometimes people provide receipts! and that can be useful. but the idea that it's outrageous to speak about something without having a bibliography is absurd.
sea lions don't really want citations anyway. (you can generally look things up for yourself). they want to direct outrage at you, refute you without formulating an argument themselves, and just waste your time.
like, a good faith response is something like, "that's not the way I see it; I saw this person say this here, could you talk a bit more about why you see it this way?"
not, "you have no proof! you must provide a link or delete this!"
